2nd Anniversary of the Robinwood Station Community Center Concert

On June 22 at 5 – 6, Mariano DeOrgebeso and Toshi Ozanaki are playing Latin versions of pop songs and also traditional Peruvian and Brazillian songs. Mariano and Toshi play at least 4 nights a week at El Gaucho restaurant in downtown Portland. It is rare they play out and this will be a real treat.

At 6 – 7, Joe McMurrian, the finest Delta blues and Americana player in Portland will do an hour set. Joe played three stages at the Safeway Waterfront Blues Fest last year and has recently opened for Johnny Winter, George Thorogood, and Derek Trucks and Susan Tedechi. Guitar magic, terrific singing.

From 7-9, the Kung Pao Chickens are playing their hot swing from the 20’s and 30’s. Dancing is encouraged. This is a rare sighting of the Chickens outside the familiar confines of the Laurelthirst Pub. They are made up of Jon Neufield (Black Prairie, the band from Portland hat was on Jay Leno last month) and Tracy Kim (Adam Zweig) on guitars, Tim Acott on upright bass, and Gary Gunther who plays clarinet, sax, flute and sings. These guys flat out swing.

Admission is free but donations are appreciated. We will also have some free pizza about 6ish.

So bring your ears and appetite and get ready for your feet to move involuntarily. All these folks play music that is all about the rhythm, and they are masters.

Located at the Robinwood Station – 3706 Cedaroak Drive, West Linn, OR 97068
