Thomas Frank: A platform of economic development and a perspective built on reason

Erik Simshauser wrote a letter of support published in the West Linn Tidings on October 31, 2012:

Elections provide a unique opportunity for each of us to express our political voice. And the impact of elections, including the candidates we choose and the measures we support, can necessarily be far reaching — in particular, those decisions that influence the investments we will (or won’t) make, the policies for responsibly managing growth and the people who will listen and lead in support of a better tomorrow.

For this reason (or these reasons), I am supporting Thomas Frank’s candidacy for West Linn City Council.

Thomas has organized his campaign around three key issues and has articulated a consistent message:

1. Economic development, including aggressive support for established businesses and incentives for new ones, is paramount.

2. Transportation infrastructure improvement, including surface street repairs to enable development and promote livability, is vitally important.

3. Water infrastructure improvement, including fiscally-responsible solutions that address our aging water system and improve public health and safety, is critical.

As the chair of the budget committee and a member of the police station task force, PAC and construction steering committee, Thomas has a transparent track record of community advocacy and well-reasoned accomplishment. I support Thomas for West Linn City Council and urge you to do the same.
