A brief community driven ceremony at the Willamette Park boat launch to honor the nearly 3,000 who died on 9/11 and the 7,000 in the ongoing war on terror – but equally as important highlighting the first responders who sacrifice for the community (police, fire, medical and military). The ceremony culminates with the wringing of the 5-5-5-5 FDNY “missing man code” and a wreath toss from a TVF&R fire rescue boat.

The Percin family of West Linn will be our special guests. They lost their son John Percin Jr., a Forest Service Hot Shot, in a Prescott, Arizona fire incident along with 18 others this past June. Followed by a hands-on event to meet and honor of those serve today with equipment/vehicles for children and families to engage with.

Please join us at the Willamette Park boat dock at 5:45pm on Wednesday September 11, 2013.

Update:

The event was a success and the public paused to remember those lives lost and thanking those who serve us today.  I would like to thank Dean Suhr for all his efforts organizing the events for 9/11.  Please take a moment to view the pictures below.
