On Monday, April 22nd, US Congressman Kurt Schrader and Oregon Senator Richard Devlin held a joint town hall at West Linn High School. They began by introducing their current agenda, but left most of the allotted time for constituents to ask questions. Questions ranged from budgetary concerns, to environmental issues; but it was clear that the most prominent issue on local Oregonian’s minds was gun control. One questioner introduced the idea of a tax deduction for gun safes, which sparked curiosity. Another individual simply stated his belief that as a gun owner, and a hunter, there is a responsibility with guns that he feels needs to be monitored better. This animated the other attendees more than any other statement or question of the night.
